With a 64 bit counter it already would, (They are available in 32 bit environment) but they are not the first logical choice (32 bit is). With todays fast computers, in some special cases (when you let it run for a couple of days) 32 bit is not enough. OTOH hardly anybody lets it run that long and 64 bit numbers are a bit slower then 32 bit. Tony
