Back in 1986 Fidelity Excel Club participated in the US Open I think. 8 machines did 12 rounds (or 12 machines did 8 rnds) and came out with a USCF rating of 2040 based on those 96 games. That is 282 points higher than its SSDF rating now. There are many other examples like this one from late 1980's. What has changed to make this so innacurate? Should one no longer consider the Excel Club to have a rating of 2040 USCF? Regards, Kerry
