Subject: How to evaluate progrees of computer chess programs - CM4000 X CM9000

 I know this might be somewhat biased, but does anyone have tried to play
 a match between Chess Master 4000 (normal settings)  and Chess Master 9000  SKR
on the same machine?

I hope this result might help in estimating the improovement since the year
CM4000 came out ( I think it was 1994 ).  The estimated rating difference
would be divided by 9 to get an expected chess software rating improovement on
an anual basis.

Of course we are always back to the question about how does this apply to games
against humans, but I thint it could still be better than nothing.
