Hi Markus,

imho everything around rook endgames might be worth the work:

a) balanced: KRPKRP
b) unbalanced: KRPPKR
c) unexpected: KRKPPP (black grabbed some pawns before a forced rook sacrifice
to prevent a white promotion!)

And sometimes in difficult rook endgames you have to give away a rook to force a
promotion, so KQKRPP and even KQPKRP is not useless.

An important pawn endgame of course deserves a closer look:
d) KPPKPP

The checky endgame with queen and pawn is not a rarity:
e) KQPKQP

You can extend this list by rook endgames were one side is behind by an exchange
and go on to endgames with different coloured bishops or tricky endgames with
knights so on ... have a good time (you'll need it ;-)

Best regards,
Jens
