I'm fairly sure there's at least one book about computer chess
that includes an article about "Paradise". Unfortunately it's
one I borrowed from a library a few years back, and I don't
remember which.

... aha, found what looks like a reference on the web. It's in
"Chess Skill in Man and Machine", ed. Frey, published by
Springer in 1983.

There also appears to be an article by Wilkins published in
the journal "Artificial Intelligence", volume 14, in 1980.
Perhaps this is the same article that appears in "Readings
in Artificial Intelligence"?
