But I wanted to concentrate on the interview, rather than his shortcomings. yes of course actually i was quite amazed at finally hearing the voice of someone i had read so much about and seen so many photo's of i quite imagined his voice would have been deeper almost husky, rather then the high shrilled almosy squeaky voice he actually had i guess i just assumed this because he was such an imposing figure in chess history this got me to thinking about other figures from history. Napoleon for example,i'm betting he squeaked like a field mouse.or Nero of Rome he probably slurred his words like a drunkard the actual interview was interesting in that i noticed he seemed to disagree with every premise the interviewer put forth for example, when the interviewer opined, that he imagined chess must be a mentally exhausing game,Alehkine said..NO.but it is exhausting on the nerves, which in reality is the same thing it seemed to me,that he began every answer in the negative, which i found to be an indication of his competitive and combatitive personality. i also enjoyed the cheap shot he took at Euwe, when he mentioned that after just 5 moves the good Dr.Euwe was hopelessly lost in a game during their just concluded 1937 World Championship match reminded me of all of the shots Kasparov and Karpov used to take at each other during the 1990's thanks again for posting the url.i for one remained totally clueless as to its availability on the net squeak squeak.. :)) Steve > >Terry
