Does it not also depend somewhat on the programs he wants to run. Clearly, the commercial programs will not run under Linux (at least not without additional software). Personally, I wouldn't touch a Windows product, even if it were free. But then I don't use software that requires me to borg-out my hardware. That's just my personal choice. Each user needs to decide what is right for their needs (or unfortunate dependencies). MH
