Expert Marc Tyler Arnold, had the tournament of his life in the US Open, playing well enough to play 3 GM's , he beat GM Walter Browne in G/60. It appears that Browne lost on time as I do not believe he would have resigned this game at this point. The game is not particulary noteworthy (except to Arnold!). Browne played as if he decided he was not going to Castle and started attacking right away with 7. ...g5!?. I'm sure style will work when usually playing rated about 500 points lower. Arnold played very well and just as fiesty. The sequence of 10. Ne4 Qg7 11. Nfxg5 Be7 12. h4 worked out well for him. After 18. O-O-O a5, it was clear Browe as just thinking attack, attack and attack and get the game over with. So much so, he totally overlooked 23.Nxc7+, fortunately for him, so did Arnold.
