Goto www.freebsd.org get the handbook, download freebsd - while downloading read the first chapters in the handbook, install BSD - read some more in the book and take all the money saved(from not using windows) and buy something nice for your girlfriend and/or family ;) but thats just my choice, do whatever that makes you happy :) I just think that the handbook is excellent for newbies, I havent looked if linux have an equivalent. with regards Kim
