If you could get multiple people to dedicate some cpu time and bandwidth, then no single person would be responsible for the whole thing. For instance, you might have several mirrors that people can choose from, such as: Please select a mirror: [ University of Alabama at Burmingham ] [ Up ] [ Andrei's Server at his House ] [ Up ] [ Russell's Server at his House ] [ Down ] [ ... ] [ Up ] etc... This way if someone had an extra computer and could dedicate it to the CCC search engine most of the time, they could still use it for other things if they needed to without having to shut down the search engine completely. For instance, I have a computer that I use for running matches (dual cpu) and most of the time it just sits here not doing anything. I would guess there are others here who have a spare computer they could dedicate "most" of the time, but they can't guarantee that it will be available all of the time, so no one volunteers.
