I'm not sure I can argue with you, as you give only subjective reasons.
You love ChessMaster's playing style, well, ok.
But if you take a look at the SSDF list
(http://home3.swipnet.se/~w-36794/ssdf/nr000.htm), you will see that CM5000 is
not in the top pack.
It has been tested on Pentium 90. If you take the other programs running on P90
(of course I don't want to compare programs on unequal hardware), you'll see
that there are 3 of them that are more than 50 elo points stronger.
Even Hiarcs 4 and Rebel 7 (old programs) play better.
And the list of programs tested on P90 does not even include the latest versions
of Fritz, Junior and Nimzo.
So I would say that, yes, CM5000 is a good program, but, no, it is not the best.
You may be impressed by the combinations it finds, but even in combinations
there are better programs.
And if you want a very agressive opponent, maybe you'll love Chess System Tal.
