At least you got it to work.

When I ran the (Crafty 15.4) bench on my (OS 8.5) 300 MHz G3, after 3 seconds I
got:

Total nodes: 169977
Nodes per second: 472
NPS relative to Pentium Pro/200: 0.01

...and then Crafty wouldn't quit! Looking at the log file, Crafty tried some six
positions with "depths" going from around 32 to 60, with only one variation ever
considered. [Perhaps, it's the memory allocation: Minimum 103M, Suggested 175M!]
Definite strangeness. Haven't been happy with any of the 15-Crafty Mac-builds: I
still use 14.6 if I want a Crafty comparison to some deep-think.
