What 'constantly' means is dependant on how you implement your search. The original question was talking about one copy when starting it and one copy when finishing it. That doesn't work because you must 'constantly' communicate scores. For varying values of 'constantly' that depend on whatever you are doing exactly. >If you just quietly exit the subtree on a fail low, I see no need for >communication.
