Hard to say.  4 processor systems are lagging a bit (from Intel.)  IE you can
buy dual 3.06 xeons, but I haven't seen quad 3.0 xeons yet.  I suspect that a
4-way opteron would be the fastest thing you could find, but I don't know about
availability, pricing, or support (O/S, etc.)

8 processors in the intel world don't work very well.  They are really two
4-way boxes tied together with some silicon glue, but memory (the single bus)
becomes a real bottleneck).

Eugene might have better data since he seems to have one of everything up at
his microsoft office.  :)
