Who cares if Fritz5 is best in Tactics, or Junior5, or Nimzo98, or CM6000. I've been reading this thread, (Fritz5 is the best in Tactics!),which just goes on and on, and its like, 'My program is more tacticle than yours on this machine', ect., ect. Too dry for my taste. Its a little like trying to decide on a program by what the GM's are saying about them. The below, in the tradition of the Conan O'Brian show, are some fake quotes of the GM's. Some are based on stuff these guys actually said:) Yasser Seirawan, "MChess has the most interesting style, enjoy" Michael Rohde, "They can still be tricked pretty easily, Adios", Shortly before losing a 1 hour game to Deep Thought a few years ago. Vladimer Kramnick, "I was impressed by Junior5, it found moves that you don't expect from a micro program, I'm not showing you any of these games - Well, OK, here's a couple, just to show you what a nice guy I am. Besides, I won one." Vlasily Ivanchuk, "We humans should not have to compete against stupid chess programs, and I hope the organizer's don't ever hold such STUPID events again!" -At the podium of the Intel event, that he won, where he refused to play the micros, sponsored by Intel. That was the last such event, (like that), they sponsored. Joel Benjamin, "Show me the money - who are those guys in the Blue suits?" After winning several of the Harvard Cups. Gary Kasparov, "Show me the printouts, That was not the real Deep Blue. I think that they had Their weak GM, Joel Benjamin inside that box, and I can prove it definatively if I see those printouts. Also 5 GM's like Benjamin, would have no chance against me, except when they are cheating inside that box!" Anatoly Karpov, "I'll play Deep Blue, for just a little more than you paid Kasparov, beat it eaily, & prove how much better than Gary I am. Also, I must have Guarantee of title, and rematch clause, and secret contract with IBM, insuring all conditions, so that I remain FIDE champion for ever." Vishy Anand, "I'm not doing any interviews, & BTW, I'm not going to play these micro matches anymore either, I'm too busy." After losing to Rebel10. I'm interested in other GM (Fake is OK, maybe even better), quotes. mrslug - the inkompetent chess software addict!
