My Shredder 7 finds the winnning move in 8 seconds. But I wonder if it has a function in the Root Search to consider some special improbable lines without pruning or any other trick. If we create an imaginary position that could have been existed 1 ply before this thread's position: [d]6k1/q2QppP1/b3p3/Pp1pP1PN/1PpP4/2P5/8/1BK5 b - - 0 1 ...and repeat the test, Shredder 7 after 25 minutes (in infinite search) still gives a score of -5.09 at depth 23/49, but if we let it move and search again, it needs only 6 seconds to give +2.99 (depth 14/33), and 8 seconds to give +4.05 (depth 17/25)!!! Any theories? Regards
