Mate in 16 has a 31 (not 33) plies long PV. Perhaps an engine will need 32 ply, to see that it is mate. Of course, with pruning, things will be different. But I would guess the limit for a mate with a maximum ply of 32 for most engines should be 16 and not less. Regards, Dieter
