Hi everyone, Thanks for all of your suggestions. I followed all of them!! Step 1: Ran memtest86 overnight. (Well for 6 hours anyway); it found 6 errors in my memory.. Luckily I happened to have some spare memory in the bottom of a box somewhere. Step 2: Ran memtest86 for another 6 hours with new memory, no errors. Step 3: Woohoo maybe I am in the clear. Started up windows, Fritz8, FritzMark. Crashed after 7 tests. Ran it again, crash. Ran it again, crash. Submitted a report to chessbase "just-in-case" it's not my hardware. Step 4: Downloaded Prime95 and ran that for 4 hours. No errors. Step 5: Kicked the machine. Step 6: Took out memory and cleaned out dust in the socket and surroudning area. (I had already cleaned the CPU/chipset area when I replaced CPU fan) Step 7: Reinstalled memory, booted up windows, Fritz still crashes Step 8: Had windows do a full check-disk on the hard drive. No errors found. Step 9: Downloaded Majistic chess demo to see if that would crash.. It didn't. Step 10: Wrote this post. Step 11: Going to take out all PCI/AGP cards, clean up slots and reseat. I will post here if it still crashes. I am at a total loss-- this just doesn't make any sense. Does anyone have any more ideas?
