I Know the meaning of Bitboards butI guess that not every program that use them(for example only for pawn structure) is defined to be a 64 bit program. please define what do you mean by 64 bit program and how much speed do you think that programs can get from going to 64 bits. If you need to work a year only to get 10% speed improvement then it is clearly a bad idea to have 64 bit program because you can earn more from other improvements. Uri
