Yea there slow and dont make much sense to me... I mean the machines Kasparov and Kramnik played gave the engines there best performance. All there doing in testing on thoughs boxes is which engine sees further depth, but in reality if the engine had enouph time/hardware it would play the correct moves. NOt a very practical way of testing engines vs engines. Best Computer tourney that I read about was when they played the best engines on a tera system, million dollar machine, that they all had a VERY fair advantage on since they all used the same computer exactly and they could go to the last depth they would need. So in the matches it really did come down to which engine(program) was truly better and could use it's on full potential on the machine.
