>So 100% faster -> +65 elo points > 50% faster -> +33 elo points (half of 65) > 25% faster -> +16 elo points >...and so on. not true! if you take a program and make it 50% faster twice or take the same program and make it 100% faster in one step, you get the same 65 elo increase with your statement. but 50% faster twice is in fact a 2.25-fold increase in speed, which is obviously better than a 2-fold increase... cheers martin
