Eboard is my favourite when playing on FICS.  But for engines Xboard is just
fine and Deep Sjeng can compete against other engines.  You can also run it in
SCID... Knights I found quite buggy and stopped using it.  Haven't tried the new
interface/database called Jose yet.  Has anyone?
