My suggestion for the future development of Chessbase (the product, not the company) is quite simple: kill it! We don't need a Chessbase 9. Why do I say that? Quite simple... in the early days of its development Fritz had very limited database capabilities. If I remember correctly, in Fritz 1 the maximum size of a database size was 3000 size and there were no nested variations. Each subsequent version of Fritz loosened the restrictions and added new capabilities. So why not incorporate the last remaining features of Chessbase 8 into Fritz 9, add forget about ever updating Chessbase? Comments welcome.....
