I agree, that it's important to have at least two or three engines that are roughly equivalent in strength, otherwise it becomes a scenario of "hmm, let's see my previous version lost 98 to 2 and this version loses 96 to 4, so it *must* be twice as strong!!" Less than useless :) I hadn't actually planned on running 50 matches each at the shorter time control, but it's food for thought. Do you run longer matches (e.g. 15 +3 etc.)? I'm also considering setting up the matches so that they run on two machines so that pondering could be enabled. Of course, this may depend on how if my wife is to willing to allow me to commandeer the machines necessary. She has gotten *very* used to serving the web and the couch is very uncomfortable ;) regards, --tom
