However I suspect we were talking about different things. When you mentioned 816MB, you were talking about the maximum hash allowed. However I was talking about the fact that I couldn't load the Shredder 7 engine when my swapfile (a system file) was larger than a certain amount. The Shredder 7 engine simply refused to load, and returned an error message: "not enough memory". That was a real bug, which the March 2003 update fixed for me. I can now load the engine, no problem there now. Now I'm now limited to 784MB hash size with my 1G RAM. Actually I only have 1024-32=992MB RAM available because my video siphons off 32MB. If I had all 1024MB RAM available, it would probably show 816MB hash size limit, the same as you. (784+32=816) So I'm guessing that you may already have the March 2003 GUI update. I've been looking around for some way to set the hash above the maximum. Shredder allows me 784MB, but not 785MB or more. I really should be able to set it to 800MB (or a little more) without a system problem, but the Shredder program won't allow it. No matter what I've tried, it always sets it to 784MB (or less). If there's any way to overcome that limit, I'd be interested to know. Actually it won't make much difference in the strength of the calculations, probably negligible. But I'd like to have that capability anyway. I'm a tweaker at heart! WP
