why? what is your purpose? what is your mhz size now? post an example of a position that you think such a large hash setting will help. even if you find a position that a program can see a better move because of large hash table, 800 meg+, what would we do with this data? what will this data prove? I think that ram sizes and the ability of the operating systems to handle these large amounts of memory are in proportion to mhz that is available to us today. When a 10 ghz for a home desktop is available to the common consumer for a home desktop, i feel the ram sizes will be in proportion. I also feel that the chess programs will keep up, to utilize this technology. kburcham
