a fritz opening book is a form of database file-- a *.ctg file or'tree'
you can burn any ctg file onto a cd-r for backup- they are not copy protected.
but some of the commercial ones are write protected.
can you please explain yourself a little better-- what are you trying to do?
back up personal data? what operating system and which cd burning software do
you use? why do you feel this is a computer chess issue and seek expertise here?
