a fritz opening book is a form of database file-- a *.ctg file or'tree' you can burn any ctg file onto a cd-r for backup- they are not copy protected. but some of the commercial ones are write protected. can you please explain yourself a little better-- what are you trying to do? back up personal data? what operating system and which cd burning software do you use? why do you feel this is a computer chess issue and seek expertise here?
