I don't know that I actually saw more than one or two games, personal eyes.

However, the concept seems reasonable.  I have known several people that
tried the experiment and won with black, so it was plausible.  In the case
that was reported on r.g.c.c (I think, or maybe in CCC) it was reported by an
IM and I tend to take such reports seriously myself.
