Dear Gentlemen, I think you're thinking of Nicolas Preo. This was well documented in Tim Harding's Chess Mail. Nick died but his son continued the games and then even started new tournaments in his father's name. The son is dead now too, so we'll never get a clear explanation for this behavior. Apparently they analyzed togther when they were both alive and the son was a strong player, just not as strong as his dad. All the best, Stephen
