It's not as easy as you say, Kurt. Okay, I admit that I haven't bought Hiarcs 9
(yet!) but I've had problems doing engine-only installations of other Chessbase
products. For instance, when I bought Junior 8 I installed it using the "install
engines only" option to use Junior 8 in Fritz 8 and bang! It killed my Fritz
program. When I executed Fritz the first screen ("Play Fritz"/"playchess.com")
popped up without any text, and all I could do was close the program.

Maybe Chessbase has fixed the bug in Hiarcs 9? But if not, if you want to use
new engines in an already installed GUI, I recommend the following steps:

1) Do a FULL installation to a new location (such as c:\Program Files\Temporary
Installation\)

2) Copy the engine files (not forgetting the DLLs) to the engine folder of the
existing installation

3) Uninstall Hiarcs 9
