You stumbled on what seems to be a bad bookline.
Int the position
[D]r4rk1/2p2ppp/p7/1p6/3P3q/1BP3bP/PP1Q4/RNB1RK2 b - -
19..Rae8 seems to be just losing a piece (by not winning material back). The
alternative 19..Qxh3 (which is also in the book) gives black nice play after
e.g. 20.Qg2 Qxg2 21.Kxg2 Bxe1
I'll check why 19..Rae8? was played (bug in book or bug in bookcode of the
Baron, or maybe I just do not understand the position ;-))
