I put some results together (only for the crafty Spec test) and compared them to
some Spec.org results:
SPECint_base2000 for 186.crafty
RT = Reference Time
BT = Base Runtime
BR = Base Ratio

S tested by Spec
Xeon 3.06 Ghz gcc3.3 roughly 8% slower than G5
Xeon 3.06 Ghz Intel C++ roughly 12% faster than G5
For me it looks quite equal. Assuming the IBM compiler would be 20% faster, the
Dual G5 would get a base ratio of 1266.
But I will get my hands on one of those G5s anyway, because OSX ist the best OS
and Xcode is a great developper environment.
