An excellent package for tackling this - although you have to pay a few shillings for it - is MailWasher Pro (I assume you use Windows): http://www.firetrust.com/ All you do is disable repeated mail checking in your email client and let MWP check your email every N minutes instead. Then a rule set processes the email, marks "possible spam" or "possible viruses" for deletion, and presents everything in a list with suggested actions; press a key and the deletion actually takes place. As well as this two-stage process there is also a one-stage process. Rules can be set up so you _never see_ offending email; it is silently deleted from the server. I have tried various POP3 filters and this is by far the best. Alastair
