I don't have Fritz 8. I bought Shredder 7 instead, which has the same GUI.
Here's some tests I've run in the recent past...
All tests using Shredder 7 (CB) GUI with 64MB hash
Computer A: 500MHz Celeron (HP Pavilion 6545C) - a 4 year old machine
Computer B: 2.6GHz Celeron (Compaq Presario S4200NX) - a new machine from
Staples
Computer C: 2.0GHz AMD Athlon 2400+ (Compaq Presario S4020WM-b) - a new
machine from Walmart
Shredder7marks:
Computer A = 318 (85kN/s)
Computer B = 856 (230kN/s)
Computer C = 1237 (337kN/s)
kN/s tests were also run for 10 minutes in infinite analysis mode on the
starting chessboard position:
Shredder 7 Shredder 7.04 UCI Fritz 5.32
Computer A 76 kN/s 72 kN/s 416 kN/s
Computer B 194 kN/s 170 kN/s 1433 kN/s
Computer C 290 kN/s 303 kN/s 1601 kN/s
