I thought "oh dear, this question's been done to death 84 times before" but it's
actually a much more interesting one than I thought :)

At the moment there's no doubt; the PocketPC programs are stronger. This is
solely because there are (currently) no programs written specifically for the
ARM processors used by the new Sony and Palm machines; both Tiger and Genius are
written for the old Dragonball processors which the ARM processors can emulate
(quite impressively, I must say).

That will change!

Battery life is now not really an issue; with my Zire 71 I get a good 6 or 8
hours between charges, which is pretty impressive, and I believe PocketPCs are
now similar (they used to be appalling).

Somebody else who actually has one will have to give you an estimate of the
PocketPC programs. However, I am a 2000 player and, on my Zire 71, Tiger beats
me more often than not but I beat Genius more often than not. (Scientific or
what? ;)
