My friend who plays Shogi says that all the Shogi programs kinda suck. And I think Go programs suck even worse than that. I dunno anything about Chinese Chess, so I can't comment. It seems to me that if a programmer were seeking to make a mark in the game engine world, he'd stand a better chance by writing a program for one of these other games, not chess.
