Sorry to be unclear. The number of bugs seem to be invariably linked to a linear function of LOC. So using a language that is extremely expressive and succinct seems to be a win. As for the hate relationship to zero index arrays it comes from both experience, knowledge and observation. Human mental calculation has some curious quirks that make a whole lot of relatively simple calcualtions error prone. And zero index arrays have a curious knack in exposing those flaws. So the objection is valid as long as we discuss anyone who learned to calculate before he programmed. I would even go so far as to view ZIA as *the* major reason for programming errors. Far outstripping pointer manipulation errors. As justification I need only mention the current buffer overrun and underrun security flaws. Pretty religious!
