I did that and got the "long list" as promised. How does one determine which are humans using computer assistance [or computers using human assistance : )]and which are just unassisted computers? I might be willing to set up a new account for myself to play "advanced chess" but detest playing against purely non-human silicon monsters. For one thing, it is difficult to carry on a conversation with a silicon monster during the game. One way is to "finger" each and every one on your list and HOPE that the answer is given. It would also be possible to "message" each one and simply ask. Isn't there a better way? Incidentally, I understand that some of the computers at ICC are set to play amateur-level chess. It might be nice to play training games against such computers if there were a way to set up the initial position &/or restrict the opening book used by the computer. [Of course, this can be done at home without ICC if one can find and acquire a sufficiently "dumb" engine.] I have never done that, but it sounds like an interesting possibility. Bob D.
