This option disables heuristics that tend to get rid of apparently bad moves like sacrifices, and the result is that Junior will usually see the point of a sacrifice one depth or more earlier. There's a tradeoff involved, because the entire search is slowed down, but usually it will mean sacrifices and other sharp lines will be seen earlier. This option scores siginificantly better on large tactical suites than the regular mode. It also plays an interesting game, though definitely weaker than standard mode. I heard that Lonnie uses it on ICC sometimes with success. Amir
