So does P4, and lets not get started with Itanium and its 130 watts (it'll cook your dinner *and* do your computations). A quad Power4 system takes even more 1KW. Athlon was simply the first of these to be introduced. Personally I have a 1.5G AMD w/ a Zalman heatsink and it's quite cool and quiet, but most fans aren't that way. anthony
