The bug in the notation pane may be because I had opened an "Extra Book Pane".
That removes the Openings Book tab in the Notation Pane. That may be buggy. I've
refrained from opening an "Extra Book Pane" in my last installation of Shredder
7, and so far I haven't seen the bug mentioned above. That's probably it because
the Fritz GUI has always been buggy when making various changes in the
chessboard window. For example it wouldn't retain "plain color" (custom defined)
chessboards/pieces until the very last update on March 5 2003. There are other
longstanding bugs still remaining in the Fritz/Shredder/Hiarcs GUI. I guess they
just don't test their software very thoroughly!?
