Switch the position and isready here to be sure.
Eg.

uci
isready
position startpos moves h2h3 f7f6 h1h2 e8f7
go infinite
stop

The hole startup process happend on the isready. Eg. start of engine, engine
initialize tablebases etc.

For the adapter I have used processor type: blend (/GB) defaults to pentium and
optimizing for speed (/O2).

I put up a version without any optimizing at:
http://home.online.no/~malin/sjakk/download/wb2uci_spes_build.zip
If you want to check if there could be any catch with the adapter.
