Let me preface this with I'm a *much* better Unix programmer than Windows, so with that out of the way... I'm debugging a problem Leo discovered with my engine occasionally hanging after a match and I'm having a heck of a time recreating the problem on the machines I'm developing on. My question concerns Winboard and signals. Does Winboard send the SIGTERM signal after it sends an engine the "quit" command. I've looked through Tim's engine interface document, but it was unclear (at least to me) if both Winboard and xboard send the SIGTERM interrupt. It's obvious that xboard does (unless you disable it) but I wasn't sure about Winboard. Frankly, I'd rather the engine only responded to the "quit" command and ignored the termination signal, but unless I can recreate the problem I may have to sledgehammer it to death as a short-term solution (i.e. hack). regards, --tom
