Hi, it is kind of weird, having just got Rebel for windows, but I would like to build a big book by merging oìther books. I'm trying to use rebel 12 DOS for merging opening books, but I get into trouble due to lack of memory. I usually use XP, and getting back to dos is not easy. I have got an old dos floppy and manged to use rebel 12 DOS. It merges opening books fine but I exhaust the memory after some merging. So I would like to know what settings of hymem and or emm386 are best to maximize the memory it can see. I have tryed 1) DEVICE=hymem.sys or 2) DEVICE=hymem.sys DEVICE=emm386.exe or 3) DEVICE=hymem.sys DEVICE=emm386.exe ram or 4) DEVICE=hymem.sys DEVICE=emm386.exe noems I have 256 MB but I guess it does not see all of that memory. By the way I used a dos 7 (or win 95) floppy boot. I have a similar problem with the EOC building tools. While the dbutil work with the 3rd setting at least. regards Franz
