Ed, for your information: I have observed a similar problem in a couple of cases. I got the problem in the CP gui playing alone against Rebel. What happens is that the program at some point stops moving. The error log states that the gui is out of sync and the pgn, provided in it, is different from what I have on the gui. In both cases the problem emerged when rebel had a totally won position on the board near to checkmate. I had not used any takeback. In one case the program just stopped moving and the gui was uanble to interact with it. In another the gui reported a move which was also a blunder allowing me a win in atotally lost position. So I guess this could albo be the source of the problems other observedin the matches with other engines where Rebel blundered, and of course this would not have anything to do with nullmoves and calculation of the engine whatsoever. regards Franz p.s.
