This is a highly personal, and individual decision:) I, being the inkompetentent chess software addict!, that I am, bought the Fritz Powere Book, because I felt that It was selling at a very good price, and I figured at some point there would be a position, or a post to respond to, where having that huge amount of Opening information at my disposal would come in handy. But is it really worth it from the economic point of view, and in terms of how much it improves my game? The answer would have to be NO! I haven't been organized enough to really use all this software I have to really improve my game, and unleashing the Powere Book once or twice a month, (The Fritz default book is pretty darn big & perfectly adequat in itself, taking up around 90 megabyts!), is not really very practicle. But if someone here says a move has never been played before, I can usaully find out that they are wrong - That's fun! I suppose a simular decision awaits us who buy Rebel10 with its 16 million position EOC (Enclopedia Of Chess), should we buy the seperately issued EOC?, with it 50 million EOC? I don't know, but I just bought Rebel10, because the price is irresistable, so I'll have to decide soon:) mrslug - the inkompetent chess software addict! On November 07, 1998 at 03:33:11, Roel L.
