Not all that strange.  Sometimes, the fastest mate is not along the most obvious
path.  A mate finder will often find shorter mates than a chess program
analyzing the same position.  And it is not at all unusual for one chess program
to find a shorter mate than another one does for the same position.  This is
especially true when the mate is distant.
