I am sometimes not so sure that windows is superior to dos... :) Some things were definitely easier those days... :) Okay, but maybe you try that one instead the stupid auto232 adapter: http://www.zeta.org.au/~tommy/ on this page you get a) a very nice winboard engine and b) a network_adapter which you can use to play automated games over network... I believe that this should also work when you implement it under other GUIs. So you might have still full control over rebel here... For WinBoard users which want to match different winboard engines on two computers I recommand to download the rsh-daemon on the site of Tim Mann... then it is like you have both engines on one PC, but they play perfectly on both... this way it's even possible to connect a linux box with a windows box... when I think now about the ChessBase Auto232 Autoplayer which seem to have some network abilities - but at least for me did never work ?
