Hello Dan,
It's my understanding that the 2.45 version had some bugs(At least the version
that is furnished with Junior5) and the version available for download is a
fixed version.  When I unzip it and put in the "Engines" directory it shows up
in Junior as EXchess 2.46.  I'm sure it's just something I'm not doing but the
instructions on the chessbase.com page only say to unzip it and copy it to the
"Engines" directory.  There is also a "Crafty 15.20" for download to replace the
Crafty 15.18 that is furnished with Junior5.  I have the same problem with it
too!
