If memory serves me, there used to be a box in the engines pane of the Chessbase GUI's that told the % of hash table being used/filled. I don't know why they removed it, however it's present in the Classic Shredder 6 GUI. If you'll install that GUI from the Shredder 7 CD, it should give you a general idea. Of course the hash table shouldn't be set bigger then can be used or it will slow things down (I think?). There doesn't seem to be any reliable reference material re hash table size for different systems, and everyone is thrown on their own to do tests, or trust unproven advice (such as mine!). For whatever it's worth, my guess is that 8MB hash is probably OK for your 1 minute games. I would also guess that more than 64MB hash would be too much. WP
